Fiddlehead Theatre Company will present a 20th Anniversary celebration of the hit Broadway sensation RENT live on stage from February 5-21, 2016 at the Back Bay Events Center - 180 Berkeley Street Boston. Set in the East Village of New York City, RENT is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the TONY Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Jonathan Larson's RENT has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates to this day. RENT will be Directed by Stacey Stephens, Choreographed by Wendy Hall, and accompanied by a five-piece band under the direction of Nathan Urdangen. Scott Caron recently appeared as Flounder in Fiddlehead Theatre Company's production of The Little Mermaid and in last season's Jesus Christ Superstar as Mary Magdalene. Matthew Belles (Roger Davis)
Matthew was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and is currently living in Portland, Oregon. RENT marks his East Coast debut with Fiddlehead Theatre Company. His most recent roles include Cord Elm in Oklahoma (Broadway Rose Theatre Company) and Joe in 9 to 5 The Musical (Stumptown Stages) for which he earned a 2014 Drammy nomination. Matthew also received a 2012 PAMTA nomination for the leading role as Tim Cratchet in the original musical, Ebenezer Ever After (Stumptown Stages). Additional roles include Jamie, Last Five Years (Capital Playhouse), Adam/Noah, Children of Eden (Capital Playhouse), and James Dean in Hot Rods (Lagoon Theme Park).
Ryoko Seta (Mimi Marquez)
Ryoko Seta is a native of Yokohama, Japan. She is an accomplished singer, actor and dancer. Ryoko received a scholarship award from the London Royal Ballet School when she was 13 years old and still stands as the youngest recipient of the award. She also has a master license for Japanese Traditional Dance (Natori). Her first professional role in a U.S. production was as an airport desk agent in Gus Van Sant's soon-to-be-released film Sea of Trees. She is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's degree in Music Business and Management. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA.
