OBERON, the American Repertory Theater's destination for theater and nightlife on the fringe of Harvard Square, has been bringing exciting and original programming to the space in 2011. The home of the A.R.T.'s hit productions of The Donkey Show, Cabaret and Prometheus Bound, OBERON also presents the work of local and visiting talent. The Future. 30 V.D. The world has been reborn after a semi-apocalyptic alien laser-cat invasion. In these brave and new times, Videodrome Discothèque rules the land, monitoring the movements and activities of all citizens via surveillance technology and tape-trading. Videodrome's savage army of fancy mutant laser-cats have captured the notorious theater criminals of Heart & Dagger Productions, and now each thespian will either dance for their lives or dance to their death! It's up to YOU who lives or dies.

BAD DADDY: THE MUSICAL

After a successful premiere in Santa Barbara, Bad Daddy: The Musical travels east, where a colorful cast of characters gathers to celebrate Daddy's 50th birthday party at OBERON. But Daddy's not in a celebratory mood. He's been hit hard by the recession, and his estranged daughter would rather hangout with her cell phone than her father. It's the Millenials vs. the Boomers in the WTF Company's dark comedy about communication breakdown in the 21st Century, all set to a catchy adult-alternative rock score.

Having entertained thousands in New York and nationwide, the Big Quiz Thing now presents the ultimate multimedia test of useless knowledge at OBERON every month, with the very grand prize of $200. Hosted by Noah Tarnow, the world's No. 1 quizmaster, this edition features "A Quick Tour Through TV Game Show History," "Public Zoo," "Never Break the Musical Chain," Smart-Ass Points for wrong but funny answers, the Lightning Round, the Three-Way Finale, and a whole lot more.

OBERON NEW WORKS SERIES

The first in a monthly series, OBERON will bring exciting new works-in-progress by local artists inspired by our club theater venue itself. August features Grief and Surfing, written by Emily Kay Lazzaro. A drama threaded with humor, this play is about coping with death, the failings of memory, and paintball.
