F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company announces Fools, written by Neil Simon. Fools opens on January 30th, at 8:00pm and plays through February 7th, 2008.

"After producing two relatively heavy shows (Training Wisteria and Bare), we are very excited to bring our audiences something light and comedic, says Joe DeMita, The F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company's Artistic Director. "With the comedic abilities of the cast combined with Neil Simon's hilariously clever dialogue, Fools will surely make even the grumpiest of people crack a smile. Maybe even twice." Fools features Dorothy Ahle, AnneMarie Alvarez, Frank Consolo, Jamianne Devlin, Steve Dyer, Nate Johnson, Tom Rimer, Peter Sofronas, Stephen Turner and Andrea Webber.

The story of Fools begins with the audience meeting Leon Tolchinsky, who is ecstatic that he has landed a terrific teaching job in an idyllic Russian hamlet. When he arrives, he finds people sweeping dust from the stoops back into their houses and people milking upside down to get more cream. The town has been cursed with Chronic Stupidity for 200 years and Leon's job is to break the curse. No one tells him that if he stays for more than 24 hours and fails to break the curse, he too will become Stupid. But, he has fallen in love with a girl so stupid that she has only recently learned how to sit down. Will he break the curse in time? Or will he be doomed to go from living a life of intellect to a life of stupidity?
