The F.U.D.G.E. (FRIENDS UNITED DEVELOPING GENUINE ENTERTAINMENT) Theatre Company will present their 10th Anniversary Season's enchanted interpretation of "A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM", William Shakespeare's celebration of the impossible complications of love and marriage in a forest just outside of Athens, from Friday, November 5th through Saturday, November 13th at The Arsenal Center for the Arts Black Box Theatre (321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA).
Directed by Joe DeMita (F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company's Founder, President and Artistic Director) this elegantly sophisticated production will introduce two PUCKS, one female and one male, doubling the possibilities, the complications, the sorcery, the magic, the confusion, the sexual tension and the sensual promises that heighten the marital choreography that dances itself between the moonlit woodlands and the realm of Fairyland.This courageous interpretation of the beloved 1594 comedy infuses the infamous Athenian forest with a myriad of new reasons to love.Believed to have been written between 1594 and 1596, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" unapologetically presents
the extremely tangled meanderings of four Athenian lovers; the perilous opportunities of a royal wedding;
a colossal standoff between an other-worldly regal couple; the almost criminal misuse of a severely effective love potion;
a pack of lower-class laborers who fancy themselves actors and a supernatural servant born to wreak havoc an all corners of serenity.
This is a comedy. And. After the dust storm has subsided. A comedy with a very happy ending.
