Four members of the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) Class of 2010 performed in its Senior Recital on Sunday, August 8th at the Franklin Federated Church. This program provided a venue for talented graduating high school seniors from FSPA to showcase their skills.

Jillian Gleason, 18, of Franklin, Jacqueline Hurley, 19, of North Attleboro, Alexandra McCurdy, 18, of Medfield and Daniel Harcourt, 18, of Millville sang at the recital. The diverse program included music by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Stephen Sondheim, Melissa Etheridge and Irving Berlin.

Gleason and McCurdy are students of Hallie Wetzell, Vocal Director at FSPA. Harcourt is a student of Wetzell and Edwin Milham, and Hurley is a student of Wetzell and Mariko Matsumura. Jenny Tang accompanied the students on piano.

All four students are also members of Electric Youth, FSPA's elite singing-dancing ensemble. They toured Austria, Italy and Slovenia with the troupe this past summer.

Gleason and Harcourt will matriculate at Northeastern University this fall, she to major in speech and voice pathology and he to study music industry. McCurdy will pursue dance at Oklahoma City University. Hurley will major in special education and theater at the University of Rhode Island.

Serving more than 45 Massachusetts communities, FSPA begins its 26th season on September 7, offering instruction and performing opportunities in Music, Dance and Drama. Registration is ongoing throughout the school year, and new students are welcome anytime. Fall course catalogues are available by contacting the school's office at 38 Main St. in Franklin or by calling (508) 528-8668.
