The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will offer "Camp GLEE" as part of the school's Summer Camp Series in 2011. The week-long Camp GLEE will take place from July 25 through 29, and is open to children in grades 5-12.

Based on the popular Fox TV show, students in this camp will recreate pop, rock and Broadway hits such as "Jump," "Defying Gravity" from Wicked, "Hello/Goodbye" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'". They will learn both solo and choral parts, focusing on vocal technique and stylization. The students will be divided by age into glee club ensembles and after learning choreography for the songs, the camp will conclude with a final Camp GLEE competition and celebration.

FSPA will offer several other one-week Camps in addition to Camp GLEE, including Rock and Instrumental Camps taught by well-known Boston musicians, Creative Kids Camp, Broadway Camp, Dance Camps and more. In addition, FSPA's popular SummerStage program for grades 5 and up will be offered in a two-week format and features this year's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. SummerStage dates are August 1-12 with placement auditions scheduled May 7th or by appointment. All SummerStage students will be cast in the production.

Founded in 1985, FSPA brings all performing arts disciplines together under one roof, offering Music, Dance and Drama training to both students interested in serious study and those who enjoy the arts for recreation. Beginners are welcome in all programs.

Registration for summer programs begins March 7th. To register for Camp GLEE or any other summer programs at FSPA, call the School at (508) 528-8668. For further information, visit online at www.fspaonline.com.
