Little Music School, a revolutionary music program taught at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts, will hold an Open House and Orientation Workshop on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at FSPA at 38 Main Street. The Little Music School method teaches children as young as eighteen months to play the piano.

The concept of the program is that every child is born with intrinsic musical abilities and the sooner we access those natural tendencies the better. Little Music School classes are specific to the age of the children in each class. Students learn in a cheerful and colorful environment where they have fun playing together, moving rhythmically, listening, singing and dancing, and exploring sounds and music with different instruments, in addition to playing the piano. Children who participate in the Little Music School program are invited to perform in bi-annual recitals.

The orientation workshop is free and open to the public and will be held at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts, 38 Main Street in Franklin. Children eighteen months - twenty-four months are welcome at 10:30-11:15, 2 & 3 year olds are welcome between 11:15 am-12 noon and children ages 4 - 5 year olds at 12:00-12:45 and 6 year olds at 12:45 pm. Adults may attend at any time throughout the demonstration between 10:30 and 1:30 pm.. For further information regarding the LMS program, please contact FSPA'S Children's Music Coordinator, Kim Rezendes, at 508-528-8668 or by email at krezendes@fspaonline.com.
