The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will present Bye Bye Bieber, an original musical spoof, on Saturday, October 22nd at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium, Horace Mann Middle School in Franklin.

Written by FSPA Drama Instructor Nick Paone and directed by Paone and FSPA Director Raye Lynn Mercer, Bye Bye Bieber is a comedic parody loosely based on the Broadway musical Bye Bye Birdie. The show follows the chaos that ensues when mega popsensation 'Jason Bieber' joins the Army in his quest for meaning in his life.

Jason's managers, the brother and sister team of Albert and Rosie Greer, are in a panic until they decide to send Jason off with a bang. They will have Jason end his career by singing his new single on TV and then kissing one of his lucky fans. That admirer, Kim MacAfee, was randomly chosen from all of Jason's Facebook fans. Bieber's lively, upbeat score features a variety of pop music, with a live band accompanying the cast.
Bye Bye Bieber spotlights the talents of a large ensemble of young performers ages 8-18 from local communities. Featured roles include Graham Hancock of Franklin as Jason Bieber, Michael Egan of Hopkinton as Albert Greer, Jessica Eklund of Medway at Rosie Greer, Ali Funkhouser of Franklin as Kim McAfee, Kendra Dombroski of Franklin as Kourtney MacAfee, Emma Sbordon of Franklin as Khloe McAfee, Giovanna Ferri of Franklin as Mrs. McAfee, Lucas Melfi of Franklin as Mr. McAfee, Marina Smoske of Franklin as Stu, Lindsay Tomas of Wrentham as Meeko, Alexa Lowey of Medway as Shawn, Neil Pfizemaier of Franklin as Logan, and Jenna McDermott of Wrentham as Rebecca.
