The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) has announced auditions for a fall production of the musical Cabaret to be presented in two dinner theater performances on October 16 and 17, 2009 at the Franklin Country Club. Auditions will be held on September 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts, 38 Main Street. Auditionees should prepare a song from a traditional American musical. Songs from the show are fine. A dance audition will be given and sides will be provided for cold readings of the script.

Cabaret, a Kander and Ebb musical set in pre-WWII Germany, follows a young writer as he looks for a muse. What he finds is the beautiful and fragile Sally Bowles; a singer in the decadent Kit Kat Klub. With songs like Willkommen, The Money Song and the titular Cabaret, The show has had numerous Broadway revivals and an Academy Award winning film adaptation.

The production will be directed by Nick Paone with musical direction by Hallie Wetzell and choreography by Kellie Stamp.

The box office for Cabaret will open on August 31st. Tickets for dinner and the show are $55.00. Reservations are available by contacting the FPAC office at 508-528-8668 or the Franklin Country Club at 508-528-6110.
