The East Boston Playhouse is proud to announce their upcoming production of Almost, Maine by John Cariani. This marks the sixth production for the young organization, which was found in 2015 by East Boston residents Candice Trimble, Javiera Lagunas Álvarez and Janet Castro with a mission to create a culture of theatre in the neighborhood and celebrate its diversity. With an ensemble cast of 15, Almost, Maine also boasts the group's largest involvement yet.
Welcome to Almost, Maine- a town that, quite literally, doesn't exist. Set under the star filled sky in deep Northern Maine during the dead of winter, the residents and visitors of Almost are falling in and out of love in the most unusual, and often comical, ways. Cariani's play features 9 short vignettes to tell their stories of love and heartache, employing magic realism to bring audiences the literal and fantastic ways that love comes into our lives.
With an ensemble cast of talented actors assembled from across the Great Boston area, Almost, Maine will be presented at Zumix, 260 Sumner Street, East Boston, Friday, February 2 at 7PM, and Saturday, February 3 at 2PM and again at 7PM. Tickets may be purchased for $10 by visiting the East Boston Playhouse website at www.eastbostonplayhouse.com. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door the day of performance for $12.
