PERMITZ
"A Comedy about an Island Permit Board"
filmed on Cape Cod

Main Feature: Friends
(This Season's Second Film Showing to the Public, plus two additional shorter films will be screened)

A local man applies for a permit to open a coffee shop. The permitz board tries to relate what it would be like to have a coffee shop like the one on the Friends TV Show.

A long five days ago in a resort sadly not that far away...

It is a period of economic unrest, rising real estate costs, unemployment, higher taxes, and of course, post-partum depression. The few "haves" have set their fiscal sights upon the quaint isle of Massapermit, and only a few were fortunate enough to have settled the land...thanks to a few choice handouts.

Golf course developers, strip mall visionaries, and taco bell franchisees have all fought their battles to cater to a local populace hungry for leisure, both high brow and low. Yes! They have battled; but alas, the island's ultimate defense force was not to be taken lightly. This weapon was known among the feared locals as, "PERMITZ," a hardened permitting board with more than just a chip on their collective shoulder...they simply don't like to share!

Have bribes, stolen plans, fraud, embezzlements, three martini lunches, and back seat favors persuaded some of our trusty board members? Sure. Thus, the hard-working, honest, sincere, and selfless among you, beware! There is no place for you in our hearth-like, Rockwell-esque haven known as Massapermit.

Starring local talent including: Paul Hebert of Centerville, Denise Demelo of Mashpee, Steve Martin of Yarmouth, and Gail Campanelli of Bass River. Creator/producer: Mike Aucoin.

It is a masterful collection of paintings, graphics, illustrated scrolls, graffiti and digital music performances.
