Cotuit Center for the Arts Announces Performance of CAMELOT Along with Exhibition

"Don't let it be forgot that once there was a spot for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot."

Some of the enchanting musical numbers include "The Simple Joys of Maidenhood," "The Lusty Month of May," "How to Handle a Woman," "I Loved You Once in Silence," "If Ever I Would Leave You," "What Do The Simple Folk Do?" and, of course, "Camelot." In the end, this delightful story comes full circle. In his realization that the dream of Might FOR Right has been shattered and that uncivilized days are back, a broken Arthur finds hope in 14-year old Tom, whom Arthur commands to return to England and pronounce Camelot's quest for right, honor and justice.

Cotuit Center for the Arts is pleased to announce our Gallery exhibit, AMERICAN CAMELOT, designed to complement our terrific production of the classic musical Camelot. The exhibit features rare photographs from the JFK Library and Museum in Boston and works on loan from the JFK Hyannis Museum Foundation, as well as contributions from local Cape Cod artists that reflect the Kennedys' very personal connection to Cape Cod. Contributors include David Lewis, the artist and sculptor who designed the statue of JFK that appears in front of the museum on Hyannis, who will trace the project from start to finish through personal correspondence with the Kennedy family. A limited edition of one of Ted Kennedy's paintings of his beloved Mya will also be displayed, along with many pieces by local artists that demonstrate what a deep human connection the Kennedy dynasty had on people of all walks of life, and how they longed for what might have been.
