The Chesapeake Shakespeare Company will hold a special Fourth of July performance of its currently running production of Twelfth Night among the picturesque ruins of the Patapsco Female Institute Historic Park, Ellicott City, Maryland. The Saturday performance will be held at 5:00 p.m and will be over at approximately 7:30 p.m., leaving plenty of time for audience members to get to local fireworks displays around the area.

CSC will perform a reading of the Declaration of Independence by Twelfth Night actors at 4:30. CSC is joining with many other Shakespeare companies across the country including Massachusetts' Shakespeare and Co. and The Colorado Shakespeare Festival in offering this reading. American Shakespeare companies have informally agreed to highlight the great writing of the Declaration by reading it aloud, as The Declaration was designed to be heard and is so rarely experienced that way by Americans.

CSC will also play patriotic music before the show.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.chesapeakeshakespeare.com, by calling 866.811.4111 or prior to the performance at the box office. Groups of 10 or more, please call 410.313.8874. For general information, call the CSC offices at 410.313.8874. (6/26/09)
