The Charlestown Working Theater will present Bulgaria's Pro Rodopi Art Center's performance Chick with a Trick. Chick with a Trick is a performance with puppets for family audiences. It tells a story about a hen who lays a bonbon instead of an egg. In a deep panic, Hen goes to look for advice and support from her friend the Duck, to the Doctor, and finally to the King, but obsessed by their own troubles, they do not pay attention to her 'problem'. In the end, inspired by the beautiful sunny day, Hen convinces herself that there is nothing wrong if one does something unusual and different, especially if one brings joy to the world.

Chick with a Trick has received numerous awards and citations and has been presented over 150 times with performances in Bulgaria, Norway, Slovenia, Romania, Albania, Pakistan, Iceland, Croatia, Slovakia, The Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, and now the U.S.! This fall Chick with a Trick tours to Boston, New York, Baltimore, and Washington DC where it will represent Bulgaria at the Kids Euro Festival, a festival celebrating the greatest in European theatre for families!
