Cape Rep Theatre will present the Cape Cod Premiere of Good People by David Lindsay-Abaire, today, September 18th through October 19th, playing Wednesdays at 7 pm, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm.
Pulitzer prize winning playwright, David Lindsay-Abaire, employs his brilliant humor and understanding of the human condition to take a look at class in America through the lens of his b oyhood home, Southie, Boston. Margaret Walsh is a smart, wisecracking, single mom surviving on low pay and hard work. In an attempt to get ahead, she risks pride and reputation and approaches an old boyfriend, now a successful doctor, to help her. Margaret Walsh's "family" in Southie, Jean, Dottie and Stevie, are funny, endearing, loyal and unforgettable.
Kristin McLaughlin, who directed last season's hit, Next to Normal, directs. The creative team includes Set Designer, Mary Hamrick, Resident Costume Designer, Robin McLaughlin, Props by Tristan DiVincenzo, Lighting Design by Phil Kong, Sound by Aaron Mack, and Elizabeth Liuzzi is the Dialect Coach.
The cast of Cape Rep favorites features Vicki Summers as Margie, Elizabeth Liuzzi as Jean, Melissa Becker as Dottie, Sam Gillam as Stevie, and Richard Sullivan as Mike; Terralon Walker joins the company as Kate.
