What happens to an iconic piece of culture, take "The Simpsons" for example, after a hundred years have passed? Fresh from its off-Broadway hit run at Playwrights' Horizons, Mr. Burns, a post-electric play is a funny, intelligent, contemporary play with music about the importance of art after an apocalyptic event results in a world with no electricity. Ben Brantley, New York Times theater critic, wrote: "When was the last time you met a new play that was so smart it made your head spin?...Anne Washburn's downright brilliant."

Directed by Philip Hays with musical direction by Jacob Yates, the cast is a wonderful ensemble of Cape Rep company members including Alison Weller who appeared in this season's Outside Mullingar, Art Devine, most recently seen in Jerusalem, Zach Brown of last season's Funny Girl, Jo Brisbane from Eurydice and Associate Artistic Director Maura Hanlon, last seen in The Mystery of Edwin Drood; they are joined by newcomers Greg Cote, Elissa Levitt and Laura Baranik.
