Cape Rep Theatre Announces Summer Shows For Children  Image

Summer starts at Cape Rep's Outdoor Theater on June 26th with our Summer Children's Show Series. On Tuesdays & Thursdays from June 26 through August 30, Cape Rep Theatre presents the hit musical HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, book, music and lyrics by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, based on the popular children's book How I Became a Pirate by Melinda Long with illustrations by David Shannon, directed by Holly Erin McCarthy and musical direction by Ben Colgan. Tickets are $12 and general admission.

On Tuesdays from July 11 through August 22, enjoy Mary Wilson's popular PITTER PATTER PUPPETS, a delight for children ages 2-6 and fun for the whole family. Tickets are $10 and general admission. All shows are at 10 am. If it rains, we go indoors! All tickets are general admission and first come, first served as there is no reserved seating. About Cape Rep's production of HOW I BECAME A PIRATE

Based on the beloved children's book, 10 year-old soccer-loving Jeremy Jacob is hanging out on the beach when Captain Braid Beard rows ashore with his pirate crew looking for a recruit to help them bury their treasure. They ask Jeremy Jacob to join them on their hilarious high-seas musical adventure!

The cast features Cape Rep Company member Anthony Teixeira as Captain Braid Beard, and his swashbuckling crew includes Hannah Carrita, Jessica Georges, Holly Hansen and Ari Lew, all popular performers in our Children's Show series. Making his Cape Rep Outdoor Theater debut is Connor Shea as Jeremy Jacobs. Frequent Cape Rep artist, Holly Erin McCarthy, directs with musical direction by Ben Colgan. Set design is by Brian Pacelli with costumes by Robin McLaughlin and props by Connor Whiteley. Jennifer Dupre stage manages.

Popular puppeteer Mary Wilson's shows are a delight for children ages 2-6 and fun for the rest of the family! She recreates popular children's stories with her very funny puppet characters and gets the kids involved in the storytelling, too. Our Outdoor Theater is the perfect venue to enjoy this hour-long interactive performance. Pitter Patter Puppets is a Cape Cod summer favorite.
