Cape Rep Theatre will continue its 25th Anniversary Season on July 29 with the classic musical The Wizard of Oz. Founding Artistic Director Robert R. Troie will direct. Performances will continue for 5 weeks through August 28. Performances take place on Tuesday at 7pm and Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm. Tickets are currently available as part of a 3 or 4 play subscriptions. Individual tickets are also now on sale. Tickets are $30 with a select number of $35 premium seats available. The Wizard of Oz was Cape Rep's inaugural production in 1986. This revival will feature several cast members from that production as well as familiar Cape Rep faces and new and exciting performers making their Cape Rep debut. The Wizard of Oz is by L. Frank Baum. Music and Lyrics from the MGM picture by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. Background music by Herbert Stothart. Book adaptation by John Kane from the motion picture screenplay.
Scott Storr will provide musical direction and Choreography is by Keith Coughlin. The design team includes set by Ryan McGettigan, lighting by Susan Nicholson. Julie Allen Hamilton is the Stage Manager.
The cast will include Shauna Goodgold as Dorothy, Daniel Greenwood at Tinman, Jared Hagan as Lion, David C. Marshall as Scarecrow, Maria Brent as Toto, Ron Torres as Mayor, Cleo Zani as Professor Marvel, and Ashlea Potts as Glinda. The ensemble will include Jo Brisbane, Martin Brent, Nick Battaglia, Sarah Clancy, Sandra Ehrlich, Jake Mullen, Lindsey Geroux and Benjamin Soto. Susan Winslow and Melissa Becker will appear as Gultch/Wicked Witch and Em/Good Witch, roles they played in the original 1986 production.

The critically acclaimed Eurydice opened a season that continued with Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. September and October brings Warren Leight's Tony Winning Best Play Side Man. The season will conclude in November and December with the Broadway Musical Comedy Smash The Drowsy Chaperone. Cape Rep is currently offerring it's annual Children's programming in the Cape's only Outdoor Theatre. Mary Wilson's Pitter, Patter, Puppets and How I Became a Pirate will run through September 2. Cape Rep is also partnering with the Sea Pines Inn for the 16th Annual Broadway Musical Dinner Revue through September 5.
