Cape Rep will produce Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune in June and July
Frankie and Johnny focuses on two lonely, middle-aged people whose first date ends with them tumbling into bed. Johnny is certain he has found his soul mate in Frankie. She, on the other hand, is far more cautious and disinclined to jump to conclusions. As the night unfolds, they slowly begin to reveal themselves to each other as they take tentative steps towards the possible start of a new relationship.

The show had a successful Off-Broadway run in 1991 and was later adapted into a film. It received a Broadway revival in 2002.

Official dates, casting and creative team will be announced shortly.

Frankie and Johnny is the latest addition to Cape Rep's 25th Anniversary Season. The season will conclude in November and December with the Broadway Musical Comedy Smash The Drowsy Chaperone. Cape Rep will also offer its annual Children's programming in the Cape's only Outdoor Theatre. Mary Wilson's Pitter, Patter, Puppets and How I Became a Pirate will run June 29-September 2.
