BTF Friday Series Presents: The Birthday Boy Friday Series Reading in the Main Stage.

About the Playwright

Playwright Chris Newbound's Morning, Noon and Night received its world premiere at Main Street Stage in North Adams, Mass., as well as a reading at Berkshire Theatre Festival in 2008. Earlier incarnations of The Birthday Boy have been performed as staged readings at Main Street Stage, and the Berkshire Playwrights Lab. His short stories and articles have been published in a variety of publications, including Seventeen magazine and Variety. He is the former managing editor of Berkshire Living, a post he held for more than five years and continues to write regularly for BerkshireLive and Berkshire Living. Chris also teaches creative non-fiction writing at MCLA and is currently at work on a creative non-fiction writing project of his own tentatively titled, Pieces of Me. He is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and received his MFA in fiction writing from Columbia. For the past three years, he's been an active and enthusiastic participant of Barrington Stage Company's Playwright Mentoring Project (PMP). Although he really does try to avoid writing plays, he sometimes can't help himself.

These readings are directed by our Directing Assistantship students and feature professional actors from our other productions as well as members of our Acting Apprenticeship program. All readings start at 2pm. This year's series is every Friday through August 20. Audiences have loved the intimacy and passion of these discussions and readings.
Make plans to join us for the Friday Series.
