Berkshire Theatre Group presents the first annual High School Student Cabaret at The Unicorn Theatre on Wednesday, May 10 at 7pm, and the fourth annual Encore! An Evening to Celebrate High School Musicals at The Colonial Theatre on Friday, May 12 at 7pm, directed by Travis G. Daly. Ticket proceeds benefit BTG PLAYS!, Berkshire Theatre Group's year-round education program.

Director Travis G. Daly says, "For the past four months, I have been working with BTG Interns, Emma Foley (Taconic High School student), Hanna Koczela (Hoosac Valley High School student) and Julianna Salinovici (Crosby Elementary School student) on the High School Student Cabaret and Encore! An Evening to Celebrate High School Musicals. Emma, Hanna and Julianna have been really involved with helping to prepare and structure these events, and will be acting as hosts for both evenings. For Encore! this year, we are excited to have the Taconic High School choir and the Hoosac Valley High School jazz band play along with the performances. We're thrilled to host High School Student Cabaret for the first time, which will be a fun evening filled with comedy, songs, poetry and more."

Ticket proceeds benefit BTG PLAYS!, Berkshire Theatre Group's year-round education program. At the heart of BTG PLAYS! is a passionate commitment to bring live theatre, and all its inherent excitement and creativity, to children throughout our region. In addition, for many of these students, this is the first theatrical experience on a professional stage. BTG hopes this experience will stimulate a life-long love of theatre and help produce the next generation of playgoers, actors or other theatre professionals.

Tickets to the High School Student Cabaret are $10. Tickets to Encore! An Evening to Celebrate High School Musicals are $12 for students, and $15 for adults. Contact the Colonial Ticket Office at 111 South Street, Pittsfield by calling 413-997-4444, or online at www.berkshiretheatregroup.org. About Berkshire Theatre Group

The Colonial Theatre, founded in 1903, and Berkshire Theatre Festival, founded in 1928, are two of the oldest cultural organizations in the Berkshires. In 2010, under the leadership of Artistic Director and CEO Kate Maguire, the two organizations merged to form Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG). Berkshire Theatre Group's mission is to support wide ranging artistic exploration and acclaimed performances in theatre, dance, music and entertainment. Every year, BTG produces and presents performances to over 68,000 attendees and, through our Educational Program, serves over 13,000 Berkshire County schoolchildren annually. BTG's celebrated stages reflect the history of the American theatre; they represent a priceless cultural resource for the community.
