The second production of Barrington Stage Company's Musical Theatre Lab will be a workshop production of "My Scary Girl" with performances from July 10 through 26 at Stage 2, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield. "My Scary Girl" features a book by Kyoung-ae Kang and Mark St. Germain, with lyrics by Kyoung-ae Kang, and music by Will Aronson with additional lyrics by William Finn.
This new musical is based on the Korean film My Scary Girl. Think "Little Shop of Horrors" meets So I Married an Axe Murderer meets (a Korean) Gertrude Stein. A romance/comedy/horror story set in Seoul, Korea , with a contemporary musical theatre score—laugh-out-loud funny!
Directed by Andrew Volkoff, with choreography by Christine O'Grady and music direction by J. Oconer Navarro, "My Scary Girl" features Terence Archie, Heath Calvert, Nathaniel P. Claridad, Deborah S. Craig, Greta Lee and J.P. Moraga. "My Scary Girl" is designed by Brian Prather (sets), Renee Bell (costumes), Scott Pinkney (lighting) and Jillian Walker (sound). Alma Owen is production stage manager.
Please note the performance schedule for Barrington Stage Company's Musical Theatre Lab: Wednesday through Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 4pm and 8pm, Sunday at 7:30pm. Tickets are $15 for the first two previews, while other performances are $25-$30. Student tickets for the Sat. at 4pm matinees are $15; Pay What You Can Night for 35's and Under, Friday, July 11 at 7:30pm. BSC's Stage 2 is located at the VFW Hall, 36 Linden Street in Pittsfield.
