Broadway Theatre Project, the country's original musical theatre summer training program, is proud to return to Region 1 of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
Jan 30-Feb 1, BTP's administration of Broadway veterans will fly to Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts to hold auditions and a series of dance and musical theatre workshops, including tap, jazz funk, musical theatre, and a fusion class entitled, "Anything Can be Broadway."
Of the over 2,500 KCACTF participants, one young artist will be hand-selected to receive an award recognizing exceptional musical theatre performance by a student pursuing higher education. BTP will award that student an all-encompassing scholarship to attend this summer's annual Project in Tampa, Florida.
BTP is going through many changes this summer for their 28th annual institute, June 23-July 14 at the University of South Florida. In addition to BTP's traditional technique classes in acting, singing, and dancing, this summer's curriculum will introduce seminars and workshops in college preparation (the College Prep Study Series) and for the pre-professional students, seminars and workshops about the business side of show business (the Professional Prep Study Series).
This new curriculum of strong technique work paired with real world preparation will enable BTP to offer the elite group of 40 hand-selected apprentices unique opportunities to prepare for their future.
