A.R.T. to Hold Annual Gala at Castle at Park Plaza in March

The American Repertory Theater announced today the details for its annual gala - Boundless, An Evening of Boundless Innovation and Artistry -to be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at The Castle at Park Plaza, 64 Arlington Street, Boston.

Under the leadership of gala co-chairs Lucy & Ward Mooney, Linda Hammett Ory & Andy Ory and Maureen & Mike Sheehan, the A.R.T. is planning an evening of great dining and entertainment.

The evening will begin with a cocktail party at 6:00pm, followed at 7:00pm by dinner, a live auction, and the artistic program, featuring special performances by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles (who wrote the music and lyrics for the new musical Waitress, directed by Diane Paulus and set to open the A.R.T.'s 2015/16 Season) and Gavin Creel (star of the A.R.T.'s 2011 production of Prometheus Bound as well as HAIR and The Book of Mormon on Broadway and the West End). The event will also feature music by Parsonsfield, the band from the A.R.T.'s production of The Heart of Robin Hood, soon to open on Broadway. Catering will be provided by The Catered Affair, wine will be provided by The Urban Grape, and floral arrangements will be designed by Ilex Designs.

The evening will also include the presentation of the A.R.T. Angel Award to long-time A.R.T. Trustee Rebecca Gold Milikowsky. A lifelong advocate for theatrical innovation, Rebecca has played a major role in shaping the future of the A.R.T. since joining the board in 1999. Rebecca introduced Diane Paulus to the theater in 2009, launching a new era of exciting artistic work for the A.R.T. family. A passionate champion of works as diverse as Sleep No More, The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, and All the Way, Rebecca will receive this award in recognition of and gratitude for the enormous impact she has had on the theater and in our community.

Individual supporter tickets are $1,000. Full and half table sponsorship packages as well as corporate sponsorship opportunities are available.

Winner of nine Tony awards since 2012 for All the Way, The Glass Menagerie, Pippin, and The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University is a leading force in the American theater, producing groundbreaking work in Cambridge and beyond. Artistic Director Diane Paulus advances the A.R.T.'s core mission to expand the boundaries of theater by programming events thatimmerse audiences in transformative theatrical experiences.

Proceeds from the gala will support the theater's artistic programming as well as its Education Experience and Community Connections initiatives. Through subsidized tickets to world-class productions, mentoring opportunities, innovative theater workshops, artist talks, and more, the A.R.T. is dedicated to expanding the community's engagement with great theater.
