The American Repertory Theater and filmmaker Johnathan Carr seek robotic, sci-fi, and cyberpunk acts for
two high-concept variety shows:

SPARKS! An Evening of Robotics, Music and More!
Presented by the A.R.T.

WHEN: March , 2011

WHERE: OBERON, 2 Arrow Street, Cambridge

WHAT: Robots and Humans come together for a special evening showcasing electronic and robot-inspired acts and inventions.

Seeking Artists, Performers, and engineers to show off, get down, and get funky with their robo-selves in the American Repertory Theater's take on 21st century vaudeville!

BILLIONS OF BUCKS: A Cyberpunk Revue
Presented by Johnathan Carr

WHEN: March 20, 2011

WHERE: OBERON, 2 Arrow Street, Cambridge

WHAT: In a not-so alternative reality, this show heralds the opening of a new club after a tech giant has retrofitted the venue with holographic A.R. - A kind of smart Photoshop for live theater - promising a brave new world of "Theater of the Undying." As with any uber-tech, all inherent paradoxes have been accounted for with absolutely no change of failure!

Seeking acts exploring themes of Transhumanism, Augmented Reality, and Digital Consciousness to celebrate this new world.

Both SPARKS! and BILLIONS OF BUCKS are inspired by the upcoming production of Death and the Powers: The Robots' Opera by Tod Machover, with libretto by Robert Pinsky, story by Robert Pinsky and Randy Weiner, and directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus.

Death and the Powers: The Robots' Opera had its successful world premiere in Monaco September 2010, and will have its American premiere at the Cutler-Majestic Theatre in March of 2011.
