Swinging the Outer Cape into the holiday spirit, the Provincetown Theater (238 Bradford Street in Provincetown, MA) opens its final major production of the 2018 season on November 29th with the beloved musical memoir Always... Patsy Cline. Based on a true story, and featuring 27 hit songs from the country-music icon, Always... Patsy Cline* -- as written by Ted Swindley -- follows the special friendship between Patsy Cline and her devoted fan Louise Seger, who became a lifelong pen pal and trusted confidante of the singer right up until her tragic, untimely death at age 30.
The production, running Thursdays thru Sundays till December 16th, stars Julia Salinger (from The Laramie Project) as Louise, and Laura Cappello (from You Can't Take It with You) as Patsy -- a role she has previously performed to great acclaim in the Cape Cod region.
Alongside musical director John Thomas on the piano, the band includes Dick Stocks on guitar, Trevor Pearson on bass, and Luke Massough on the drums. Always... Patsy Cline is being staged by Artistic Director of the Provincetown Theater, Obie Award winner David Drake.
The production team includes set design by Ellen Rousseau, costume design by Carol Sherry, lighting design by Chris Page, sound design by Sam Sewell, and stage management by Eric Oxtoby.
Always... Patsy Cline performs Thursdays thru Saturdays at 7pm, with Sunday matinees at 2pm, November 29 thru December 16, 2018. Tickets can be purchased online at provincetowntheater.org.
