2nd Story Theatre in Warren, RI will present Red Scare on Sunset by Charles Busch, directed by Ed Shea. The production runs from January 25 – February 24, 2008.
In Red Scare, "Mary Dale is a successful 1950's Hollywood movie star. Her husband, actor Frank Taggert, can't find his way into a B movie. Abandoning Hollywood glam for method acting, Frank joins a left wing acting studio only to find the Red Menace is using it as a ruse. When Mary discovers her beloved husband, friend, and best houseboy are blackmailed by the Party, she heroically hikes up her chiffon cocktail dress and has them blacklisted by America. It's one woman's war for love, truth, and billing over the title.", according to recent press notes.
This is 2nd Story's second Busch production. The theater presented Tale of the Allergist's Wife during its 2003-2004 Season. Busch is currently performing in his play Die Mommie Die at New World Stages in New York.
