Titus Theatricals presents The Bench-Journey Into Love on July 13, 2013 at the Nampa Civic Center.
Over the years, the Treasure Valley has had front seats to amazing theater and dance productions. Recently, Boise has attracted productions in various commercial development stages due to the amenities this area offers including world-class facilities, availability of local talent and a large population of theater enthusiasts.
In July, Idaho-based Titus Theatricals is producing a Broadway-style reading of The Bench-Journey Into Love, here in the Southwest Idaho. In order to produce a "reading" that reflects the organic nature of The Bench, Titus Theatricals is joining forces with Boise Dance Co-op and legendary Idaho jazz musician Chuck Smith along with other local and national talent. For updates on the ongoing development and ticket information, follow us on Facebook at The Bench Musical Reading.
The Bench merges dramatic and comedic artistry blending Keisha Lalama's signature expressive movement as a "dance-maker" with a corps of dancers as "the storytellers." The production's intricate original jazz improvisations from composer David Lalama flow with pulsating rhythms performed live by an ensemble of musicians, while the lyrics crafted by Joel Mason add depth and eloquence.
