Boise Contemporary Theater Announces First Show Of The 18|19 Season ImageBoise Contemporary Theater proudly steps up to a new level of scale and spectacle for the first show of its 23rd Season: the international smash hit, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, a play by Simon Stephens based on the novel by Mark Haddon, and directed by BCT Associate Artist, Tracy Sunderland.

The play, winner of the Tony Award for Best Play and the Olivier Award for Best New Play in London, features the return of some familiar faces to the BCT stage along with the introduction of several new members to the BCT family. Donna Jean Fogel (The Roommate) and Ravin Patterson (House of Tomorrow) return to Boise from the east coast as part of this ensemble of ten actors. Boise resident, Arthur Glen Hughes (Red, A Skull in Connemara) joins them along with newcomer Davey Collins as Christopher, an English boy with an extraordinary brain. Rounding out the incredible cast are Kelly Anne Barker, Antony Bolante, Mason Clark, Joe Conley Golden, Marissa Price and Jodeen Revere.

New Managing Director Benjamin Burdick is thrilled that the first play of the 18|19 Season is one with such a rich ensemble. "This is why theater is the most collaborative art form in the world. Ten wonderful actors connecting in movement and speech to create one narrative, combined with sound, lights and scenic design to create an unforgettable evening of story telling."

Artistic Director, Matthew Cameron Clark, adds, "Theater has the power to connect a community through increased understanding because it allows an audience to see the world through someone else's eyes. One of the reasons this play has been so successful from London to Broadway, and from Mexico to South Korea, is that it does a remarkable job of translating the way Christopher experiences events differently than most people. Although it's not explicit in the script, nor the novel upon which it is based, the hero of this story is on the autism spectrum. The play allows the audience to better understand what that means. Remarkably is does so while taking us all on an exciting journey to solve a compelling mystery"
