Have you been wanting to see a poignant, funny and professional play without spending a lot of money? Look no further than ANATOMY OF GRAY by Jim Leonard. With nothing more than some hay bales and a projection backdrop, the Mountain View High School production takes us back to the 1800's.

Set in a small town called Gray, Indiana and described by 15 year old June Muldoon, played superbly by Sarah Williams, as "boring" soon becomes anything but.

After her father dies, June prays for a the one thing the town seems to be lacking, a healer. Her wish comes true with a man who coincidently has the same name as the town, Galen P. Gray, a doctor who is squeamish around blood. The new doctor, portrayed by Ryan Bennett, seems to be helping the town, until a mysterious rash hits the town and begins to spread throughout.

Mr Leonard's script establishes a balance between religion, science, love and loss. Some very timely subjects hinted upon in this gorgeously written script. Some noteable characters to help tell his story are Homer, played by Tate York and Crutch Collins, portrayed by Erik McCoubrey. These young actors have great comic timing and, as it seemed from the program, they are both seniors who will hopefully go on to things we can see in the future.

Director Gloria Duhaime and the small cast keep the pace of this show so smooth, that not a beat is missed.Miss Williams and her fellow cast mates do such a good job, that the town of Gray, Indiana will stay with you. Their story told beautifully by a young but talented group.

ANATOMY OF GRAY can be seen February 8, 9, & 10th at 7pm at Mountain View High School. $7 for adults, $3- Students W/Activity Card $5- Students W/O Activity Card
