BCT's 21st Annual 5X5 Reading Series Returns Next Month

Boise Contemporary Theater will open their annual 5X5 Reading Series on January 12, 2015 with NEW EDEN by Heidi Kraay. The play begins as Brian, lost in a blizzard, stumbles upon Michael's warm and welcoming cabin. Lost and longing to please God, Michael's chance for salvation stumbles in from the cold. One disciple is a good beginning...but Michael has his eye on disciple number two. This fascinating tale of desperation and redemption asks how far we will go for our beliefs.

A long tradition in theater, the 5X5 Reading Series allows the audience, actors, directors and producers to experience the language of the playwright and assess each play's potential for future production. Listen to some of your favorite actors bring five of the best new plays in the country to life. Afterwards, participate in a discussion with the actors, directors and sometimes playwrights to complete your evening.
