I had the pleasure of reviewing THE NERD produced by Stage Coach Theatre (SCT), directed by Curtis Ransom. It is a zany, madcap show.

THE NERD, as presented by SCT, was reminiscent of the Jerry Lewis movies I grew up on. Rick Steadman (Jordan Peterson), a pathetic yet lovable nerd who is well-meaning and socially inept, who saved Willum Cubbert's (Shane Turner) life. Willam was shot in battle and Rick came by as Willum was passing out from loss of blood. Willum feels he owes THE NERD his life...or is his life too much to give?

The actors did a good job of portraying the different characters. The businessman who jokes a bit but still needs to loosen up, the best friend, the ambitious weather girl, and of course, THE NERD.

Stage Coach Theatre has a great show going for their season opener. If you want to see a cast who work well together and are having fun on the stage, you need to go to see THE NERD.

Visit their website for tickets: Stage Coach Theatre, 4802 W Emerald, Boise, ID. Show dates: the show continues through September 6th, 2014, on Saturdays, Sunday, Thursday, and Friday. Check their website for times.
