Boise Contemporary Theater today announced the full cast and crew for the second show of its 21st Season, A Nighttime Survival Guide-written and directed by BCT Founding Artistic Director, Matthew Cameron Clark, and Associate Artist, Dwayne Blackaller.

This revival, nearly four years after the record-setting World Premiere, will star the three original actors for whom the play was written: Blackaller, LA based actor Carie Kawa, and Alley Rep Managing Director Justin Ness. Also returning to the team are Anne McDonald of Frankly Burlesque, who plays one of the three puppeteer-performers known as "Silhouettes"; Scenic & Puppet Designer Michael Baltzell, who was recently honored with a Governor's Award in the Arts; and Tony-nominated, Resident Sound Designer, Peter John Still.

Professional puppeteers Jodi Eichelberger and Jaime Nebeker join the team as Silhouettes for this reimaging of the show. Eichelberger performed in the original cast of the Tony Award-winning puppet musical Avenue Q on Broadway, and played the role of Stingy on the international children's television series LazyTown. He serves as the new Artistic Director of Story Story Night and as the new Program Coordinator of Surel's Place.

Jaime Nebeker serves as Managing Director of Boise-based HomeGrown Theatre, where she has created original puppet theater for five seasons. She teaches and tours as an actor with the Idaho Shakespeare Festival and recently directed How High is Up? for the BCT Children's Reading Series.

Boise Weekly called the original production of A Nighttime Survival Guide "A touching tale of the power of friendship that Boise audiences of all ages are likely to enjoy." The new version is built on an updated script and exciting new production elements, including a number of puppets redesigned by Michael Baltzell.

ABOUT A NIGHTTIME SURVIVAL GUIDE:

Eleven-year-old Verne lives in Arco, Idaho, where the nights are getting longer. Half a world away, where more often than not it's already tomorrow, lives a girl named Aki. She hates her new home in rural Japan and he's terrified of what comes out when the sun goes down. They're united by a shared mystery and an unshared darkness. A fantastic adventure of friendship, hope and imagination set in two places where monsters just might exist. While Hedwig and the Angry Inch was the highest grossing show in BCT history, the original production of A Nighttime Survival Guide reached the biggest total audience of any production in the company's twenty-plus years.

Recommended for ages 6 and up due to some mildly scary themes and situations.
