The worst play I ever witnessed was Prymate in 2004 - horrible nonsense about a gorilla

and in 2008 I saw the worst musical in my history at least called Glory Days - just awful

Finally someone mentioned Prymate! And I'd add The Civil War to the list of worst shows I've ever seen.

In all fairness we might be one of the only people who saw Prymate - I remember the Longacre - around 100 people when the curtain went up , when the lights came up and the show ended , my friend and I turned around and maybe 10 people remained in the entire house, not exaggerating

Ok, am I the only one who actually kind of wants to see Prymate now?

I just want to say that there's a play called Yosemite that I saw at Rattlestick Theater, starring Seth Numrich and (as a kid) Noah Galvin, and directed by the now-quite-famous Pedro Pascal, that I thought was an abomination at the time. However, even a few days after I saw it, I realized it had something to say about poverty in America. It's grown on me ever since and I now recognize that it was probably a pretty good play.

I actively dozed off during Ohio State Murders. The James Earl Jones is stunning though !

oh yes, that was dreadful. People were laughing at the choreography. Poor Rachelle Rak. And the sound design even made Liz Callaway sound bad which is quite a feat!

I just looked the show up. Seems bonkers and lowkey (highkey) very racist to have a black man play a gorilla with 2 white scientists.

It got worse - someone is raped and someone is injected with a syringe of AIDS, it was mind boggling to see it on a Broadway stage , reminded me of a grind house exploitation movie more than Broadway level theater

Worst Broadway - Lestat, or Illya, Darling

Worst Ever: Meredith Willson's 1491 with Chita Rivera and John Cullum, Shine It On with Lisa Minelli in San Francisco, Home Sweet Homer with Yul Brenner in tryout, or Barbary Coast with Jerry Landing and Marcia Rodd which only played in San Francisco for very, very small audiences of maybe 100 in a 2200 seat house - a vanity production with full broadway designers and orchestrators.

Just came back from NYC  last week. Saw Back to the future, and for the first time ever walked out at intermission. We then got a drink and a hot dog before going back in just to see the car fly.

The most amateur piece of theater with the most boring songs and the cast was completely phoning it in. Seemed like a tired theme park piece of entertainment which I never got from Aladdin and Lion King.  In addition, the whole subplot between Marty and his mother was just something else.

American Psycho is the only show I regret spending money on. The only exciting moment was the end of the first act when blood splattered on the vinyl curtain. Other than that, totally abysmal. Sometimes when I need a laugh, I think of the moment where the set was covered in blood in Act II and they needed a way to get rid of it, so the solution was to have the ensemble on their hands and knees cleaning up the blood while singing the word "cleannnnnn..." repeatedly

I absolutely hated The Sound Inside, other than the gorgeous lighting design. Runner Up: A Strange Loop, which I really wanted to like but it started strong and just rolled downhill from there. 1/2 of the couple next to got up and left in the middle. I wish I'd joined him.

Worst shows I've seen in the last 27 years:

The Goat or Who is Sylvia?: I so desperately wanted to leave, but I was in the middle of the row and there was no intermission.

Gypsy: Patti LuPone was just horrible to see in person. She can't sing -- just screeched the whole time -- and was shouting her lines the whole time. So painful!

The Humans and The Band's Visit: Lots of hype, but just so boring.

A Delicate Balance with Glenn Close and John Lithgow. Shocking considering the cast but it was so long and so boring like why.

Also On Your Feet-just didn’t see any reason for needing it
