ONE NIGHT ONLY!

Billy Jenkins and Mike Beecham, along with Theatre of Gadsden present a one-night only cabaret event, Seasons of Love, on Saturday August 22, 2015 with proceeds to benefit the Red Yates Memorial Scholarship Fund. Featuring Theatre of Gadsden favorites, new faces, and a few ‘royal’ guests, this evening of song at the historic Ritz Theatre in Alabama City will highlight local and regional talent singing Broadway and pop favorites.

Seasons of Love was produced in Atlanta for many years to support various metropolitan charities. Beecham and Jenkins, both active members of Theatre of Gadsden, have conceived this version of the popular cabaret event to feature local talent and raise funds for the Red Yates Memorial Scholarship Fund. Red Yates attended Gadsden High School and Auburn University before moving to New York for a varied career in acting. After moving back to the area to raise a family, Yates was a long-time instructor of drama at Hokes Bluff High School and director for area theatres including Theatre of Gadsden, Alabama Regional Theatre, and Anniston ACTheatre. Many of Seasons of Loves performers and production staff began their journeys in the arts under the direction of Mr. Yates. The Red Yates Memorial Scholarship Fund was initiated to provide funding for students who have been involved in local theatre and are pursuing either theatre or music in college.

With a storied history with the Miss Alabama system, music director Billy Jenkins has gathered past crown winners Jamie Langley (Miss Alabama 2007) and Beth Stomps Feller (Miss Alabama 1997), along with talent winners Kristian Crowe, Casey Browning, and Debbie Harden Green to round out the cast of local favorites and new faces. A graduate of Jacksonville State, Langley was a three-year vocal performer at Carnegie Hall and can currently be seen on WIAT 42 New in Birmingham as an anchor. Feller is a graduate of The University of Alabama and resides in Tuscaloosa, where she is active in the award-winning Theatre Tuscaloosa.

The Seasons of Love cast features: Johnny Brewer, Casey Browning, Juli Christiansen, Kristian Crowe, Kay Daniel, Doris Day, Beth Stomps Feller, Debbie Harden Green, Deon Green, Billy Jenkins, Jamie Langley, Chris O’Rear, Molly Page, Lee Pope, Chad Steed, and Susan Silvey.
