Encore Theatre and Gallery Presents Hilarious Comedy "Chicken & Biscuits" as Regional Premiere

Birmingham, AL - Encore Theatre and Gallery is thrilled to announce the upcoming production of "Chicken & Biscuits," a play that promises to deliver laughter and entertainment to show goers .

Directed by the talented Artistic Director Marc Raby, "Chicken & Biscuits" will be the third production of Encore Theatre and Gallery's 2023-2024 Season. As a regional premiere, this show is set to captivate theater enthusiasts with its hilarious storyline and relatable characters.

The play revolves around the Jenkins family as they gather for their patriarch's funeral. However, what was supposed to be a solemn occasion quickly turns into a comedic rollercoaster of family dysfunction. Rivaling sisters Baneatta and Beverly find themselves struggling to bury their father without killing each other. Tensions rise when Beverly arrives at the chapel with her "blessings" on full display. Adding to the chaos, Baneatta's son brings his neurotic Jewish boyfriend along, knowing it will trigger its on set of chaos , and Beverly's nosy daughter keeps asking uncomfortable questions. Baneatta's pastor husband attempts to mediate the family drama, but a shocking family secret revealed at the pulpit forces the sisters to confront a truth that could either heal or break them.

"Chicken & Biscuits" promises to keep audiences engaged and entertained for 1 hour and 45 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission. Please note that the play contains adult language, situations, and references, earning it a PG-13 rating.
