Opening at the Wetumpka Depot Players tonight, July 26, this tender comedy reminds us that love doesn't mean that both peas have to be from the same pod. Stephen Dubberly, who has appeared in dozens of area plays, makes his Depot debut in PANACHE as Harry, the card playing, frustrated artist turned short order cook who spends his days at the track and his nights flipping pancakes. But he has something that wealthy sophisticate Kathleen, played by Depot favorite Kim Mason, wants. In the process we find that while these people come from very different worlds, they have more in common than either one realizes.
Panache also features Joseph Miller, Colgan Meanor and Sonja Cannon. Award winning director Tom Salter leads this cast.
"It is a wonderful cast," said Salter. "We have had so much fun putting this show together. I know our audiences will have just a much fun watching it."
Set in a small, cluttered New York Apartment, the play was written by Don Gordon. The show has delighted audiences and charmed critics all over the country.
The show dates are July 26-28, August 2-4, August 9-11 at 7:30 p.m. and August 5 at 2:00 p.m. Reserve your seats now online at www.wetumpkadepot.com or by calling 334-868-1440. The Wetumpka Depot Players Theatre is located at 300 S Main Street in historic downtown Wetumpka.
