WaterTower Theatre Managing Director Greg Patterson and Associate Artistic Director Kelsey Leigh Ervi today announced casting and creative team details for the Regional Premiere of Silent Sky, directed by Kelsey Leigh Ervi. A new play by Lauren Gunderson, Silent Sky will run January 20-February 12, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. This new play by Lauren Gunderson blends humor and romance in a riveting exploration of the life and career of celebrated astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt (1868-1921), who fearlessly asserted herself in the male-driven, turn-of-the-century world of science and academia. A true story of discovery, Silent Sky invites us to join Leavitt and the real women "computers" working at the dawn of modern astronomy as they explore the magic of the universe in what is an historic journey of love, science, and determination.
Individual tickets to Silent Sky will go on sale December 6, 2016, at noon and will be available by calling the WaterTower Theatre Box Office at 972.450.6232 or online at www.watertowertheatre.org. Silent Sky is sponsored, in part, by Atmos Energy and Slalom Consulting. Student matinee performances on January 31 and February 7 are sponsored by Atmos Energy.
