Theatre Tuscaloosa invites you to join us for open auditions for our upcoming production of Sylvia by A.R. Gurney on Monday and Tuesday, February 21 and 22, at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Bean-Brown Theatre at Shelton State Community College?s Martin Campus (9500 Old Greensboro Rd).

Sylvia has roles for four adult actors, and all four roles are available. There are two roles for women, one for a man, and a fourth role that can be played by either a man or a woman. Those who audition should prepare a contemporary, comedic, one-minute monologue, and be prepared to read from the script. It is recommended to present a headshot and acting resume, and all who audition must bring their calendars so that they can share any conflicts with the rehearsal schedule.

Copies of Sylvia are now available to be read in the Ticket Office for those who wish to read the play in advance (recommended). Scripts may not leave the premises, however. The Ticket Office is open Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Fridays 9am-noon.

Rehearsals will begin in late February. The rehearsal schedule will be finalized after casting, but rehearsals are generally Monday through Friday evenings and some Sunday afternoons and/or evenings. There will not be rehearsals on most Saturdays.

Sylvia will be presented April 8-17 at the Bean-Brown Theatre on Shelton State Community College?s Martin Campus. Performances will be at 7:30 pm Thursdays through Saturdays and at 2pm on Wednesday and Sundays. A Pay-What-You-Can preview performance will be presented on Thursday, April 7, at 7:30pm. More details are available at www.theatretusc.com or by phone at 205.391.2277.
