Due to the illness of multiple cast and crew members, Terrific New Theatre has made an eleventh-hour decision to cancel its production of "Grace & Glorie," which was scheduled to open this week. In its place, "Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years" will open Thursday, Oct. 25, and run through Nov. 4. It will be the second production of TNT's 33rd season. To fill out the canceled production's three-week run, Birmingham favorite Norton Dill - a director, musician and performer - will bring his one-man show, "... and then I Got My Uke," to the TNT stage for three performances Nov. 8-10.

Based on direction by Cheryl Hall, "Having Our Say" stars Chalethia Williams and Donna Thornton Carmichael, who have played these sisters many times before. You will meet 103-year-old Sadie Delany and 101-year-old Bessie Delany as they welcome us into their Mount Vernon, N.Y., home. While preparing a celebratory dinner in remembrance of their father's birthday, they take us on a remarkable journey through the last hundred years of our nation's history, recounting a fascinating series of events and anecdotes drawn from their rich family history and careers as pioneering African-American professionals.

The play, written by Emily Mann, was adapted from the book, Having Our Say, by Sarah L. Delany and A. Elizabeth Delany with Amy Hill Hearth. The TNT production will perform Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m., from Oct. 25-Nov. 4. However, there is one notable departure from TNT's usual schedule: Due to the "Dia de los Muertos" festival at Pepper Place on Friday, Nov. 2, there will not be a performance that night.

The one-man show "... and then I Got My Uke" will take the stage Nov. 8-10 (Thursday-Saturday) at 8 p.m., featuring the popular and beloved Dill playing ukulele, banjo, guitar and harmonica, bringing his charming and folksy stories to vivid life, and delighting audiences with his signature down-home humor.

These two productions share a behind-the-scenes creative team: set designers Kevin Thomas and Kenneth Patterson, lighting designer Scott Littleton, sound designer Neal Hunter Hyde and stage manager Kim Dean Davenport. Holly McClendon serves as makeup artist for "Having Our Say." This team is led by TNT's artistic director, Tam DeBolt, now in her third season.
