Both a classic for the kids and a heartwarming musical the whole family will love, Red Mountain Theatre Company's (RMTC) Youth Series production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast Junior is showing tonight, July 19-21 and August 2-4, 2013, at the RMTC Cabaret Theatre (301 19th Street North).
Dancing flatware, menacing wolves, and singing furniture fill the stage with thrills in Disney's Beauty and the Beast Junior, a beloved fairy tale about very different people finding strength in one another and learning how to love. This classic story begins with a prince being transformed into a hideous beast as punishment for his cruel and selfish ways. Meanwhile, the brainy and beautiful Belle yearns to escape her provincial life - and her brute of a suitor, Gaston. However, Belle gets more adventure than she bargained for when she becomes imprisoned in the Beast's enchanted castle. In order to become human again, the Beast must earn Belle's love before it's too late.
RMTC's Disney's Beauty and the Beast Junior is a family-friendly production and appropriate for all ages (G). This production is part of RMTC's Youth Series and is performed by students ages 7-12.
Show times are Friday-Sunday, 7:30 PM, and Saturday-Sunday, 2:00 PM. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling 205-324-2424 or visiting www.redmountaintheatre.org.
