Direct from South Korea to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival comes the cooking show spectacular, Nanta, for a limited run, July 11-15. Tickets can be obtained by calling 800.841.4273, visiting on line at www.asf.net or at the ASF box office located at 1 Festival Drive in the heart of Montgomery's Blount Cultural Park.

Nanta is a cooking show adventure that features four engaging and athletic male and female Korean chefs in a huge kitchen preparing for a wedding banquet. As they cook, the highly entertaining foursome turn the stage full of kitchen items such as pots, pans, dishes, chopping boards, brooms and knives into rhythmic percussion instruments. When the food and fun stop flying, the performance culminates in a feast in which some lucky audience get to have a taste.

This high energy, humor filled musical extravaganza has played to over six million spectators in 252 cities in 41 countries. Nanta played on Broadway from 2004-05 where it became the longest running Asian show in the history of the Great White Way.

Newsweek raved that Nanta is "A big hit! Spectacular!" The Scotsman called Nanta "One of the best shows you'll ever see!"

There will be a July 10 invitation only show in which ASF, the City of Montgomery and various automotive suppliers will celebrate Hyundai Motor Company's 10-year anniversary ground-breaking in Montgomery. The remaining shows are available to the general public.
