We at Merrimack Hall have spent time in Haiti and with Haitians, interacting with them and appreciating their culture. Please join with us during this time of great need to contribute locally to help those less fortunate abroad.
There are several major efforts underway in Huntsville to gather items, money and other aid to send to Haiti. Please consider supporting one of the local groups below in their efforts to aid in this great crisis.
Donate Food & Water
Trinity United Methodist Church is accepting donations of food, medicine, water and money at the HudsonAlpha Institute. Trinity is sending a team of volunteers to Haiti on Friday.
Food: Rice, beans, powdered milk, canned items such as fish or meat, and bottled water.
Medicine: Over-the-counter, vitamins.
Supplies: Blankets, flashlights, batteries, tents.
Health kits: Put in a 1-gallon sealed bag:
Handtowel
Washcloth
Nail file or fingernail clippers
Comb (regular size)
Bar of soap
Toothbrush (single brush only)
Large tube of toothpaste
6 sterile plastic strip bandages
