Following the success of The Brussels Requiem, British composer Howard Moody has been inspired by Sindbad, the adventurer and wise master, present in some of the most ancient Persian and Sanskrit tales. This is a story about the power of love and the consciousness in which the next generation must discover what it takes to transform a place of war into a place of peace. Sindbad encourages the children to find a way through many human challenges so that together they can finally learn to see the living flames of Sheherazade’s imagination. As they start to realize the power and significance of her stories, they begin to find the strength to rebuild their lives together and create a City of Peace. La Monnaie Children’s and Youth Choruses and children from several Brussels schools will perform this musical journey. Musicians of the Symphony Orchestra of La Monnaie and students of Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel will accompany them in the pit.
