In November 1988 Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, with his wife and dancer Ludmilla Nerubashenko founded the first private company of classical ballet in Russia.
The first foreign tour company was held in Seoul in 1989 and since then the company has made in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Japan, Germany, Israel, Egypt, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Portugal, Finland, Singapore, USA, Estonia, Cyprus, Belgium, Luxembourg, Lithuania, and of course Russia.
Since its inception the company has created 10 ballets and has danced more than 20,000 performances.
The aesthetics of the company is based on the tradition of Russian ballet technique virtuoso dancers and a deep drama of each role.
The company dancers are from major choreographic schools of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm and Kiev. Some danced in other prestigious but eager new artistic experiences companies have joined the Moscow City Ballet.
Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet soloist, student of the great ballet masters like Balanchine, Robbins, and other Lavrovsky has choreographed for theaters in Moscow, Kiev, Novosibirsk, Tashkent etc.. His experience designer and his work as artistic director of the Odessa Opera encouraged him to create his own company called first "Young Stars".
