As children they got to know each other at the dance academy in the Slovakian town of Banska Bystrica. They later moved to Brussels and bumped into each other again in such dance companies as Rosas, Ultima Vez and Akram Khan. In 2006 they set up Les SlovaKs, which offers energetic, expressive dance packed with humour and containing references to their personal memories, shared culture and friendship. Music is also a vital part of their productions. Elements contained in the dance are transposed into a strong soundtrack.
They found their inspiration for the superb Journey Home in characters from the films of Charlie Chaplin and Laurel & Hardy, and in traditional Slovak dance evenings, where varied dance styles have been combined since time immemorial.
