With It’s my life and I do what I want, a new joint venture by the KVS and Théâtre Les Tanneurs, Pierre Sartenaer and Guy Dermul lead the audience through the twentieth century. Their starting point is the mystery surrounding the Dutch artist, director, performer and writer Willem Kroon. His current obscurity contrasts sharply with the reputation his fellow artists made for themselves in the history of art: theatre innovator Jerzy Grotowski, writer Samuel Beckett, the founding members of Arte Povera, etc. Willem Kroon’s biopic becomes their highly personal version of European (art) history in the past century.
