Woken up in the middle of the night, an architect rushes through the city, runs through the residential and then the shopping district, reaches destitute areas, unaware of what he is looking for, unless he is looking for appeasement. That is how the tale by Olivier Py begins; it is based on his latest novel Excelsior. The poet, author, producer and director has reworked it for the stage where it becomes a monologue entrusted to the Spanish actor Pedro Casablanc accompanied by the music of Fernando Velázquez. Vers la joie (Hacia la alegría) questions the inner vitality necessary for any creation.
This production is the sixth produced within the scope of the European Villes en scène/Cities on stage project. It will be accompanied by the video installation Moving Cities/Madrid produced in partnership with the young artist Álex Pachón.
