The Russian soprano Ekaterina Siurina first met the American tenor, Charles Castronovo in 2004 during a production of L’Elisir d’amore, an elixir they gladly drank from. Since then they have been one of the most seductive couples in the opera world, both vocally and theatrically. They sang together in Les Pecheurs de perles, La Sonnambula, Rigoletto, I Capuleti e I Montecchi, they were Pamina and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte and they were critically acclaimed in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress. For their recital at La Monnaie this charismatic couple will show off their talents in a high flying programme mixing songs in Italian, German and Russian – for we sing of love in every language !
