Chesapeake Shakespeare captures the glamour and spirit of Edwardian London in its season-opening production of Shakespeare's beloved romantic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing. Despite their legendary chemistry, Beatrice and Benedict carry on their "merry war of words" and hilariously deny their attraction. Set in the waning years of WWI, the play's look is "Downton Abbey posh" with lavish costumes and a set evoking an English manor with a hand-painted ballroom floor. Featured music and period dances celebrate the ragtime waltz and early jazz/blues sounds introduced in London by American soldiers. Directed by Matthew R. Wilson, founding artistic director of Faction of Fools.
